New York Scores High in Emergency Preparedness

A new report says New York is one of the most prepared states in the nation for a health emergency. It was one of eight states to achieve 9 out of 10 possible indicators for health emergency preparedness capabilities; no state achieved a score of 10.
The report was issued by the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The seventh annual report offers a state-by-state comparison of the capacity of state health departments to respond to diseases, disasters and bioterrorism.
